Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026
Kleerance Compliance Systems ("Kleerance," "we," "us") operates a B2B sanctions and restricted-party screening platform. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the kleerance.com website and the authenticated application.
1. Information we collect
We collect a limited set of information to operate the service:
- Account information. Email address, display name, organization name, and authentication identifiers when you sign up or sign in.
- Search queries and screening inputs. The names, identifiers, and other inputs you submit for screening, along with the parameters of each search (lists checked, filters used, timestamp).
- Screening results and audit-log entries. The results we return to you and a record of the search are written to your organization's audit log so you can replay them for auditors and regulators.
- Service operations data. IP address, browser/user-agent, page and API request paths, and timestamps captured by our hosting and logging infrastructure for security, abuse-prevention, and reliability purposes.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your screening inputs to train third-party models.
2. Source of watchlist data
The watchlist data we index is sourced exclusively from publicly available government and intergovernmental publishers, including the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the U.S. General Services Administration (SAM.gov), the U.S. Department of State, the United Nations Security Council, the Council of the European Union, and the United Kingdom's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and HM Treasury. Kleerance does not author, edit, or supplement the underlying listing decisions made by those authorities.
3. How we use information
- To provide and operate the screening service, return matches, and produce audit-ready records of each search.
- To maintain account access, billing, and customer support.
- To monitor and protect the platform against abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
- To improve search relevance, ingestion accuracy, and reliability of the service.
- To comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
4. Cookies and analytics
The authenticated application uses first-party cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to preserve session state (such as your last search). The public marketing site may use a small number of analytics cookies to understand aggregate page traffic. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.
5. Data security
Data is transmitted over encrypted (TLS) connections. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel and protected by industry- standard authentication. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we do not represent that the service is immune from unauthorized access. If you believe an account has been compromised, please contact us so we can investigate.
6. Data retention
Account information is retained for the life of the account and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy legal, accounting, and audit obligations. Search and screening records are retained on a rolling basis to support your organization's regulatory audit obligations; specific retention windows can be configured by enterprise customers. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us.
7. Sharing and subprocessors
We share information with service providers that operate the platform on our behalf (cloud hosting, database, authentication, payment processing, and error monitoring) under contracts that restrict their use of the data. We disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
8. International transfers
The platform is operated from the United States and may process information in countries other than your own. By using the service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, and to object to certain uses or withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, please contact us. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
10. Not a consumer report
Kleerance is a counterparty-clearance and compliance tool. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the service is not designed or licensed to be used for any purpose covered by the FCRA, including decisions about consumer credit, employment, housing, or insurance eligibility. See our Terms of Service for details.
11. Children's privacy
The service is intended for business use by professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the application or by email to account administrators.
